Sound Paintings
Echoes and Threads
For Echoes and Threads project I have investigated my own sound journey through recording acoustic instruments within ancient stone sites and connecting with the renonsance of these spaces. I am investigating how our ancient ancestors connected with ceremony, music and rituals within stone monuments and ancient landscapes.
Through my practice of synaesthesia I have created sound sketches and paintings to echoe this phenomena.

From Sound Sketch to Sound Painting
Before each painting I will sketch up my interpretations of the recordings taken in the ancient sites. This will be expressed in the form of ‘sound sketches’. From these initial sketches I will create my original oil / gesso paintings.
